Podium Presentation Title: Increased Time to Surgery for Chronic Proximal Hamstring Tears is Associated With Worse Outcomes

چکیده
Prior studies of hamstring tendon tears have reported varied findings on whether increased delay from injury to surgery is associated with worse outcomes. Although previous evaluated acute versus chronic treatment, they not compared patients within the group despite wide variation in time that group. The purpose this study was determine clinical outcomes tears. It hypothesized would be lower patient-reported outcome (PRO) scores. Patients who underwent surgical repair or reconstruction a tear 2010 present were followed for minimum 12 months surgery. A defined as which at least 4 weeks had passed since until All completed PROs final follow-up. Multiple factors analyzed correlation including surgery, amount retraction, degree injury, and demographics sex age. Complete data sets obtained 35 patients. Endoscopic transtendinous repair for partial-thickness proximal hamstring tendon tears.
Partial tears of the proximal hamstring tendon can successfully be managed with tendon repair in cases of failed conservative management. As in partial-thickness gluteus medius repair, a transtendinous technique can be used to repair partial-thickness undersurface tears of the hamstring origin. This report details an endoscopic transtendinous approach for the treatment of partial-thickness hams...
متن کاملSurgical technique for repair of acute proximal hamstring tears.
The surgical technique for repair of acute proximal hamstring tears is relatively recent. Installation of the patient is critical. The approach is either vertical under the gluteal fold in case of a complete tear with tendon retraction of more than 6 cm, or horizontal in the gluteal fold for retraction of less than 6 cm or for partial tears. After identification and neurolysis of the sciatic ne...
متن کاملRepair of Proximal Hamstring Tears: A Surgical Technique.
Proximal hamstring tears are among the most common sports-related injuries. These injuries often occur as strains or partial tears at the proximal muscle belly or the musculotendinous junction, with avulsion injuries of the proximal attachment occurring less frequently. Regardless of the mechanism, they produce functional impairment and negatively affect an athlete's performance. Various classi...
متن کاملPlatelet-rich plasma treatment improves outcomes for chronic proximal hamstring injuries in an athletic population.
BACKGROUND chronic proximal hamstring tendinopathies is a disabling activity related condition. Currently, there is no well-accepted or extensively documented non-operative treatment option that provides consistently successful results. PURPOSE to evaluate the efficacy of ultrasound guided platelet-rich plasma injections in treating chronic proximal hamstring tendinopathies. METHODS a total...
متن کاملIncreased Radial Access Is Not Associated With Worse Femoral Outcomes for Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in the United Kingdom.
BACKGROUND The radial artery is increasingly adopted as the primary access site for cardiac catheterization because of patient preference, lower bleeding rates, cost effectiveness, and reduced risk of mortality in high-risk patient groups. Concerns have been expressed that operators/centers have become increasingly unfamiliar with transfemoral access. The aim of this study was to assess whether...
